In a group announcement at San Diego's Comic-Con, Star Trek XI's Damon Lindelof and JJ Abrams confirmed that Heroes' Zachary Quinto will appear as the young Spock in the upcoming film. Leonard Nimoy is also set to star in the film, saying it was "logical" for him to do so; after all, who else would fans accept as the more mature version of the iconic character? Nimoy, who also appeared on the panel, told fans that they had a "great director" and a "wonderful script" for the film. And, that's about it. That's right; they had no more news for us at all... Filming begins this November for the long-awaited movie, and they have no Kirk, no McCoy, and no Scotty. Not to mention the fact that they are trying to find a way to work in a part for William Shatner; after all, it's either that, or alienate every fan of the original series, seeing as how Shatner has made it no secret that he's just waiting on someone to tell him when and where to show up for the role he made famous. If they plan on having an audience, I'd say they need to hurry up and give the man a role.
