There is only six days to go (December 20) until popular fan production Phase II releases the first part of it's anticipated episode "Blood and Fire" which is the series first and only new release of 2008, the episode which was written and directed by David Gerrold and also features an appearance by former TNG castmember Denise Crosby

 The two parts of "Blood and Fire" are the last episodes that fans will get to see of the original Enterprise 1701 in action before the ship is semi refitted sometime before the next episode "Enemy: Starfleet" takes place in a bid to tie in the series with "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and fans will also see the Original Series varient of the Miranda Class ship for example this test animation

The Phase II team has also released details of the episode "The Child" which is scheduled to be released for our viewing pleasure sometime into 2009
